Thanks to you, Joey the giant anteater has just been reintroduced to the lush grasslands of his wilderness home, after you helped him regain his strength following devastating forest fires in Brazil.

On a chilly July day in the depths of the Amazon, giant anteater Joey gently sniffed the fresh air and took his first steps back into the wild. This incredible milestone is a beautiful end to his 2 year long journey at the Tamanduá Institute, where he recovered in warmth and safety after being rescued from deliberately lit forest fires.
Over the years, Joey’s dedicated carers have snapped lots of photos of his transformation from a tiny sweet baby into the strong independent adventurer he is today. Take a look at how much he’s grown!
