Thanks to your support, jaguar Xamã has just been released back into the Amazon to rediscover life on the wild side.

On a starry night deep in the Amazon rainforest, Xamã the jaguar finally received his fairytale ending.
With plenty of curiosity (and maybe a few nerves), Xamã bravely took his first steps back into the wild.

This incredible milestone couldn’t have happened without animal lovers like you. You helped care for Xamã with our partners at the Onçafari sanctuary in Brazil. He spent two years preparing for his release, sharpening his hunting skills and building up his strong muscles. He even made a few friends along the way!
Xamã was just a little cub when he first came to Onçafari. He was rescued after he lost his mum to manmade forest fires, deliberately lit to clear land for beef cattle and crops for factory farms. But thanks to you, he found a safe home at the sanctuary where he could grow into the brave and bold adult he is today.
Xamã is just one of the many wild animals you’re helping in Brazil, left injured and homeless from the same devastating fires that took Xamã ’s mum. But your support means our sanctuary partners can continue to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need. Thanks to you, they now have a chance to one day join Xamã and get their very own wild happy ending.
