An advertising truck drives past Parliament House in Canberra

Thousands of supporters call for an end live sheep export

News

You were a strong voice alongside thousands of other animal lovers who called on politicians to end live sheep exports in Canberra this month.

You played a critical role in the fight to legislate a ban on live sheep exports in Australia by adding your name to our advertising truck that circled Parliament House and the Department of Agriculture.

For more than a decade, supporters like you and animal welfare organisations including World Animal Protection have worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the immense suffering of millions of sheep and cattle in the live export trade.

Earlier this year, the Federal Government announced the establishment of an independent, expert panel to oversee the phase out of live sheep exports in Australia. And the report is due to be handed to the Government by the end of this month.

Many of our sheep lose their precious lives during these long, hot and overcrowded voyages of cruelty. Those who do survive these gruelling journeys are often roughly handled and brutally slaughtered at destination countries.

Thank you for standing side by side with millions of Aussie sheep. By strongly calling on decision-makers to stop these death ships and end the needless suffering of our sheep. Forever.

Thank you. Your tireless support is helping put pressure on the Government to do right by Aussie sheep.
