News

Despite launching an animal welfare policy to end the sale of circus-style performances, Klook continues to sell cruel experiences involving elephants, dolphins and tigers.

The travel company promised to implement their animal welfare policy to end the sale of circus-style performances late in 2023. However, our upcoming report on Klook, set to be released in the coming weeks, reveals that they are not living up to their word as they continue to profit from animal suffering.

Hundreds of passionate animal lovers have signed our petition, urging Klook and other major travel companies to stop offering cruel wildlife experiences on their platforms. Despite this, Klook continues to sell these harmful experiences to their customers.

"It’s appalling that in 2025, Klook continues to profit from the suffering of dolphins, tigers, elephants and more. People love to see animals on their holiday, but wild animals don’t need to suffer in cruel venues for our entertainment.

"In Australia, recently we’ve seen Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary end koala cuddles, and Dreamworld end direct tiger interactions. It’s clear Klook needs to respond to the changing landscape and modernise their offerings now.

"Klook is falling behind other popular travel companies like Intrepid and Booking.com who are doing the right thing by wildlife. These ethical companies don’t sell tickets to low welfare venues and they have established animal welfare policies.

"We were shocked to find that Klook is currently selling tickets to captive dolphin and orca entertainment venues, with some even linked to sourcing wild dolphins from the brutal Taiji dolphin hunts."

Animals are sentient beings, and it is time to end holidays that harm them for commercial profits. Every year, thousands of wild animals are brutally ripped from their mothers or bred in captivity to perform unnatural and demeaning activities for tourist entertainment.

As intermediaries between tourists and venues, travel companies have the power to put an end to this horrific exploitation of our planet’s wildlife by refusing to sell and promote such activities.

With you by our side, we will continue lobbying Klook to eliminate all cruel wildlife attractions from their platform and enforce animal welfare policies to protect wildlife.

Together, we can protect wild animals from the clutches of the wildlife entertainment industry.

What we do

Working around the world to end the needless suffering of animals by inspiring people to change animals’ lives for the better.

Animals, not entertainers.

Animals are sentient beings who can feel complex emotions like happiness, fear, and pain, to name a few. Like us, they too deserve to be happy and free in their homes – the wild.
